Staff development will no longer be conducted whole-group. Teachers and staff will be separated into three groups by grade levels. All Pre-K and Kindergarten teachers will form one group. First and 2nd grade teachers will be grouped together and 3rd and 4th grade teachers will form the last group. This will allow more manageable groups of 10-15 teachers with support staff included.
Staff development will be conducted in the computer lab so that teachers can have access to computers with internet. This will allow teachers to have hands-on training with the technology they will be using in the classroom.
Each staff development session will provide teachers with a new skill that can be used in the classroom immediately and without the need to purchase any additional hardware or software.
At least one staff development session will be focused on introducing alternatives to PowerPoint such as Prezi, Brainshark, Jing, etc..
Teachers will meet with Administration once per six weeks to discuss the implementation of the technology selected for the campus. Administrators and Technology support staff will also be available to answer questions and provide any assistance that the teachers might need implementing the technology.
